Reopening dates & permitted regions and countries

As of June 10, 2020, the government of Aruba officially announced the country will reopen its borders and once again welcome inbound travel. The decision to reopen borders, which were closed due to COVID-19 restrictions in early-March, was made in conjunction with the Aruba Department of Public Health (DPH) and took into consideration the ongoing guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, May 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Aruba Tourism Authority has announced the 'Happily Ever After Guarantee,' a postponable, destination booking policy for couples dreaming of booking a 2021 wedding or honeymoon, but are worried about COVID-19 affecting future travel.

Couples can now book their event of a lifetime with the participating hotel or resort venues of their choice with confidence, knowing their special occasion can be postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic issues, by providing a 30-day notice period (1). As part of Aruba's 'Happily Ever After Guarantee' program, weddings and honeymoons booked for 2021 can be postponed for up to a year from the original event date.

Aruba COVID-19 situation UPDATE - March 14, 2020

Update from Queen Beatrix International Airport

Yesterday afternoon the Government of Aruba (GOA) officially confirmed the first two cases that were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. As a result, the GOA has taken the following measures that will impact operations at Queen Beatrix International Airport:

- Effective March 16th, 2020 (0:00 hrs UTC -4) until March 31st, 2020, it is prohibited to transport passengers to Aruba who within fourteen (14) days before his or her check-in for a flight bound to Aruba has been in the following countries/regions: China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), Singapore, Iran, Korea (Rep), Japan, the European Union, Great Britain, Switzerland or Norway. The above travel prohibition does not apply to:

1. Passengers who are legal residents of Aruba (passenger can prove this by showing an Aruban driving license or Aruban ID card), or
2. Passengers born in Aruba (place of birth is stated in passport).

- Screening at airport for arriving passengers starting March 14, 2020.

We understand that you may have a lot of questions at this time with regard to certain aspects related to the airport operation as a result of the recent developments.

We do advise that you contact your airline directly to verify if your flights to/from Aruba will continue as planned or if there are any changes as effects of the recent measures taken by the GOA.
