EAGLE BEACH, Aruba – July 28, 2011 – Anik van Draanen and Kenny Dhanraj from Ontario Canada recently exchanged wedding vows on the powder-white sands of Eagle Beach and Bucuti & Tara Beach Resorts. Following their sunset ceremony, the couple and nine guests enjoyed a private dinner under the stars to celebrate. The bride being of Dutch descent and the groom being of Guyanese descent chose Bucuti & Tara Beach Resorts because Aruba was the most fitting destination for a Dutch-West Indian ceremony.

First meeting in elementary school, the couple went their separate ways but reconnected in high school and became very good friends. After many attempts, Kenny finally convinced Anik to go on a date with him during their last year of high school, and the rest is history. After completing college the couple got engaged, and have been together for nine years. Both successful in their careers, Anik is a beloved teacher and Kenny is a Government bank regulator.

“We chose Bucuti because it is both intimate and romantic, and the fact that the resort is independently owned in addition to having an adults-only policy really appealed to us,” said newlyweds Anik and Kenny Dhanraj.

When asked about what they liked best about their wedding, Anik and Kenny Dhanraj stated, “We loved everything about Bucuti, but the beach was our favorite part of our wedding. Also, Nashette, the wedding planner, was absolutely amazing and helped us make our dream wedding a reality. ”

Anik and Kenny celebrated their honeymoon in one of Bucuti’s luxurious Bungalow Suites.
